Program Title: An Evening With Eleanor Clift

Eleanor Clift, contributing editor of Newsweek, has been at the center of Washington's political arena for the last three decades. At the podium, she brings her unique perspective and rich experience to life, speaking on topics including the White House, Congress and the diverse personalities who make up the Washington power structure; key issues of the day; and the role of women in politics.

In addition to her role at Newsweek, Eleanor Clift's column, "Capitol Letter" is posted each week on Newsweek.com and MSNBC. She is a regular political panelist on the nationally syndicated show The McLaughlin Group and is a political contributor for the Fox News Channel. Playing herself, she has appeared in several films, including Independence Day, Murder at 1600 Pennsylvania, and Dave, as well as the CBS series, Murphy Brown.

Eleanor Clift is the author of several notable books, including War Without Bloodshed: The Art of Politics, and Madam President: Shattering the Last Glass Ceiling, including the revised edition (2003), Madam President: Women Blazing the Leadership Trail (Women and Politics), about the rise of women in politics. (Both books she co-wrote with her deceased husband, Tom Brazaitis.) CNN news analyst Jeff Greenfield said in The New York Times Book Review, "War Without Bloodshed unquestionably works as a road map through the byways of the Washington they don't teach in civics classes." Ms. Clift's latest book, Founding Sisters and the Nineteenth Amendment, (Women and Politics) is about the pivotal moment in US history when the the 19th Amendment passed, finally granting women the right to vote.

Eleanor Clift was a key member of the Newsweek's 1992 election team and followed Bill Clinton's campaign from the start. In June 1992, she was named Deputy Washington Bureau chief. According to Brill's Content, a journalism review, Ms. Clift is one of the most accurate predictors among the pundits on the political talk shows.
