Dennis Miller

Celebrity Comedian

Former Stand-up Comedian of the Year and still one of the most popular hosts who ever sat behind a desk on SNL’s Weekend Update, Dennis Miller is one of the hippest, funniest and most unique corporate friendly stand-up acts you will ever witness.

While his film career to date has included featured roles in Disclosure (with Demi Moore and Michael Douglas), The Net (with Sandra Bullock), and Bordello of Blood, it’s really his standup brilliance and razor-witted creative “rants” on that have brought the comedian his acclaim.

Over the years, Dennis has become both a public and critical favorite. The New York Times said, “Mr. Miller is exquisitely attuned to contemporary foibles...his material can be scathing, his delivery low key...Mr. Miller reaches a bit further than most comedians for the scorching comment...this smart aleck has an uncommonly sharp eye...”

“I like to do what I do,” says the comic, whose career portfolio includes having hosted his own syndicated TV talk show and three HBO specials: *Dennis Miller, Live from Washington (They Shoot HBO Specials, Don’t They?); Dennis Miller: Black & White, and Mr. Miller Goes to Washington*. Dennis’ special for Comedy Central The State of the Union: Undressed was nominated for a CableACE Award.

From 1994 to 2002, he was the host of Dennis Miller Live, a half-hour talk show on HBO characterized by its stark simplicity. The show had no set, band, or even much lighting. It mainly consisted of Miller speaking to the largely unseen studio audience on a darkened stage. Miller won five Emmy Awards while hosting the show, which aired 215 episodes during its nine-year run.

After a brief stint as a commentator for ABC’s famed Monday Night Football, Miller switched to a more political focus. In 2003, he provided regular commentary for the FOX News show Hannity & Colmes, and began a prime-time political show on CNBC in early 2004 called Dennis Miller.

Dennis has hosted the MTV Music Awards three times, co-hosted the 1994 Billboard Music Awards, twice hosted the Espy Award, as well as twice co-hosting the Emmy Awards. In the recording area, Warner Bros. released his “Off White Album.”

Miller, who is married to model Ali Espley and father of two boys, notes, “comedy is a funny job, I mean, let’s face it, my only commitment is to be a funny man.”
